GlyAcid® 99 HP: High Purity Glycolic Acid, 99% Crystals
GlyAcid® 99 HP is high purity glycolic acid in solid crystalline form, at 99% minimum. It comes from the same formaldehyde-free GlyAcid® process as the 70% solution, with no formaldehyde detected at a 5 ppm detection limit, but brings no water with it.
Glycolic acid without the water
GlyAcid® 99 HP lets formulators add glycolic acid to anhydrous and low-water products, such as oil-based serums, balms and powders, where a 70% solution would bring in unwanted water.
For synthesis and polymers
The crystalline grade suits reactions and polymerizations that run best without water, including polyglycolic acid (PGA) and other glycolic acid derivatives. As a solid, it also ships and stores more compactly per kilogram of acid.
Formulating with GlyAcid® 99 HP
Total acid is 99% minimum, and the crystals melt at 77°C (171°F); full specifications are on the TDS. Glycolic acid crystals are hygroscopic, so keep containers tightly closed. GlyAcid® 99 HP is supplied in 20 kg fiber drums.
