GlyAcid® 70 HP: High Purity Glycolic Acid, 70% Solution
GlyAcid® 70 HP is a clear, virtually colorless 70% solution of high purity glycolic acid, the smallest alpha hydroxy acid. It is made without formaldehyde, and none is detected in the finished product at a 5 ppm detection limit, giving formulators a clean starting point for exfoliating and resurfacing products.
Smoother, renewed skin
Because the molecule is so small, glycolic acid loosens the bonds that hold the outermost skin cells together. Older cells release and fresher-looking skin shows through, which makes it the standard AHA for peels, toners, serums and daily resurfacing products.
Hair, scalp and nail care
In hair care, glycolic acid normalizes elastic modulus, raises denaturation temperature and improves lubricity. On the scalp it gently exfoliates buildup, and in nail care it softens cuticles. Full findings are in The Science of Beautiful Hair.
Formulating with GlyAcid® 70 HP
Total acid is 70–72% with color of 15 APHA max; full specifications are on the TDS. Below 14°C (57°F) the product may precipitate. Warming to 40°C (104°F) with agitation re-dissolves it without affecting quality. GlyAcid® 70 HP is supplied in 25 kg pails, 250 kg drums, IBC totes and ISO tanks.
